I did not get a response for my queries Installation manual could have been better. Technical knowledge is required if your existing mechanical chime do not provide a 16 - 24 Volts ac Overall it is a good product for now but I had to go through a lot of research to overcome some of the technical problems I've experienced to get it working .       Lorex 2K Wired Video Doorbell doesn't work with the Alexa SHOW command

      "This doorbell is not currently compatible with Amazon's Alexa. I bought this camera for use with Alexa running on my Amazon 2nd generation Echo Show 8. I currently have a Lorex NVR system with 5 existing Lorex cameras that work with Alexa running on my Amazon 2nd generation Echo Show 8. The command: "Alexa show CAMERA NAME" displays whatever the named camera is seeing on my Echo Show 8. However, this command doesn't work when used with m new Lorex 2K video doorbell camera. I've seen replies to users from Lorex on Reddit to say that they're aware of this and they say that the issue lies with Amazon's system. This wasn't mentioned to me when I contacted Lorex Support. They had me try all sorts of settings to no avail. My final question is; Why are Lorex still selling this camera as being compatible with Alexa, when it obviously isn't? I'm not Happy to say the least as this camera wasn't cheap and this feature was one I really wanted. !"

      Good System, but Lacks Animal Detection Feature

      "LI recently purchased the LOREX 8-camera Color X system. Overall, the system is good and meets most of my expectations. The image quality is excellent, and the setup process was smooth. However, one major issue I noticed is the absence of the animal detection feature. I’ve been using another Color X system from LOREX for over two years, and it had animal detection, which was a crucial feature for my needs. Unfortunately, this new system does not include it, which was a disappointment as I expected similar functionality. If animal detection is not a priority for you, this system will work great. But if you rely on that feature like I do, you might want to double-check before purchasing. I hope LOREX can clarify or add this feature in future updates."

      "Was not the easiest to set up. The hot spot Wi-Fi did not give long enough to put pass words in? But persistence paid off and once connected to my Wi-Fi and then Alexa everything is perfect. I have disconnected the old doorbell and just have Alexa announce that someone is at the front door. The person detector works perfect and the video playback is brilliant. With the supplied SD card there s no need for monthly subscription. Result Overall being a wired and not battery installation just enjoy and not worry about constant battery replacement. Highly recommend. Steve."

      Does this record 24hrs like the ring or is it just when it detects motion?

      can this be connected to my existing wired chime box?
      This Lorex Video Doorbell is compatible with both mechanical and electric chimes, so if you have a mechanical one, yes, this will work great.
      I'm trying to buy a new transformer but there isnt enough details regarding which one is suitable - I can only find an 16-24v ac transformer putting out a max of 8va - what VA rating do you suggest? 2 electricians have asked me the same question when trying to install.
      You have to connect it to a transformer that supplies it with 16V ~ 24V AC or 12V ~ 24V DC these will give it the correct VA power it requires.
      Hi. I have a gate 100 feet from my property that I wish to mount this bell.(worried if wifi is required) I'm happy to run cable for this back to the house and I have power at the gate. Would this work? Also do I need any other hardware for this?
      You will need WiFi in that area, as this device works as a WiFi camera, you will also need to connect it to a transformer that will give it 16 to 24V AC.
